Our Mission

"Operation Mother's Love" was created to share the warmth, care and support of home with US servicemembers stationed around the world. Through lovingly prepared care packages, we connect families on the homefront with heroes on the frontlines. By sending these gifts to officers and chaplains, we ensure that our love is felt across the miles, reaching not just individuals, but entire units who stand together in service to our great nation.

Our Vision

To remind as many servicemembers as possible that they are loved and supported by sharing warmth, care, and generosity through items of need from the homefront.

Our 2025 Goal

Collect enough items to make 300 care packages to ship to designated full units posted around the world, for deployed servicemembers and those stationed far from home, who cannot be home for the Holidays.

Who We Are

We are military mothers, and friends who stand beside them, united by love, pride, and gratitude. Diane and Maureen have always supported our military, but this mission became personal when we became Blue Star Moms, mothers of children actively serving in the Armed Forces. Together, we stand shoulder to shoulder to support our sons, daughters, and their friends serving around the world. Through Operation Mother’s Love, we put our hearts into action by creating and sending care packages that carry encouragement, comfort, and a reminder of home. Our strength comes from family, our mission is rooted in love, and our purpose is to make sure no hero feels forgotten.

How We Got Started

In 2020, during a year marked by uncertainty and distance. Diane’s son, Justin, was a cadet at West Point, and with COVID restrictions in place, the usual rhythms of military family life felt especially somber. That spring, the DC, Maryland, and Virginia Parents Club created “boodle boxes” filled with treats and encouragement for cadets. Inspired by this act of love, Diane decided to extend the idea beyond the academy, to soldiers deployed around the world.

That first year, Diane led the local effort in Maryland through the Boodle Box Brigade, a group of West Point moms connected with officers and chaplains worldwide. Together, Diane and her Maryland friends prepared and shipped 55 care packages to servicemembers stationed in Poland. From there, the mission grew as more mothers joined in. Maureen, who had been involved from day one, hosted a packing event in her home, became a vital leader in the growing effort.

Maureen became the proud mother-in-law of a U.S. Coast Guard Captain, while Diane’s son Justin commissioned as a Second Lieutenant after graduating from West Point. Today, Operation Mother’s Love sends care packages not only to their own children serving, but also to their friends, fellow soldiers, and the extended “military family” who sacrifice so much. What started as a small act of kindness has become a growing mission, fueled by mothers and friends united in service from the homefront.

Looking Forward

Diane and Maureen recognize the importance of establishing a nonprofit organization that can officially acknowledge their generous donors and ensure the mission could continue for years to come and are in the process of making this a reality.

We submitted our application on October 7, 2025 and Operation Mother’s Love Inc. became officially established as a tax-exempt corporation in the state of Maryland on October 17, 2025.

Our 501c3 application is pending and should be finalized any day.

We are currently accepting donations through Sign Up Genius Donations and an Amazon Wish List, and expect to streamline and integrate this into our developing website in 2026.

With heartfelt gratitude for helping us send warmth, care, and generosity across the miles.
