On Cloud Kindness

This cause is deeply personal to me.

I grew up in a single-parent household, and my mom worked tirelessly to make sure I had everything I needed — even when times were hard. There were moments when we relied on SNAP benefits and community programs to put food on the table, clothes on my back, and school supplies in my backpack. Those resources weren’t just about meals or material items — they gave us stability, dignity, and hope when life felt uncertain.

Seeing families face that same uncertainty now because of the government shutdown hits close to home. I know what it’s like to watch a parent stretch every dollar, to feel the weight of needing help, all while trying to keep life “normal.”

This fundraiser means so much to me because it’s a way to give back — to honor the people and programs that once supported my family, and to make sure other families don’t have to worry about putting food on the table.

Together, we can help bridge the gap and care for our community, just like others once cared for me.
