I’m fundraising to support Rwandan street children with school fees, Christmas meals, and youth programs run by the Franciscan Friars who welcomed me home after 30 years away.

Hello everyone,
As some of you know, I recently returned to Rwanda for the first time since 1994. It was a deeply emotional journey. I got to meet my mother, and my young brother and his family for the first time since 1994. Arriving in Rwanda was filled with hope of a new beginning, one that reconnected me with my roots and opened my eyes to the incredible work being done by the Franciscan Friars of St. Francis of Assisi, who graciously hosted me throughout my entire stay.
The Friars' work in the community involves supporting street children, many of whom are tragically jailed or sent to fight in regional conflicts in Rwanda and the Congo. They also maintain a local primary school, where some children cannot even afford a uniform, and it is mandatory to have a uniform and shoes per government requirement. In addition, they run a secondary school where they teach real life skills such as tailoring, carpentry, cooking, and computer skills.
During my visit, I met four dedicated workers, each with a young child, who are struggling to afford school fees and uniforms. Despite these challenges, their commitment to serving others is unwavering. To support them, a portion of the fund will be allocated to cover the cost of school uniforms and annual fees for all four children who are mostly girls.
The money raised will go to the following:
Every contribution, no matter the size, will go toward these efforts.

Thank you for standing with me in giving back to a community, and contributing towards my Rwandan trip return, my hometown!
Thank you, Angelique.
