This journey means a lot more to me than just a crown.
As Miss Black Missouri USA 2026, I’m not only preparing for the stage—I’m building something that lasts beyond it. Through my platform, Verlinda’s Village, I’m focused on creating safe, supportive spaces for youth and families, especially those who have experienced instability or foster care. This work is personal to me, and it drives everything I do.
The funds raised will go toward competition expenses such as travel, wardrobe, and entry fees, but also directly support my community efforts. That includes hosting events, providing resources, and continuing initiatives that pour back into the very communities that shaped me.
I truly believe representation matters. Showing up as my full self and using this platform with purpose is how I hope to inspire the next young girl to see what’s possible for her too.
