Maité, Maria-Teresa Madan-Felten, unexpectedly passed this past week. She was an empathetic, passionate, funny, and bright woman.
Maité was an ally to many oppressed communities, always opening her home and heart to those who needed it.
She spent most of her working life as a childcare provider, caring for and nurturing hundreds of kids.
Maité used her voice to advocate for vulnerable children across the globe.
In her retirement she enjoyed listening to music, going on walks, drinking café con leche from local Cuban spots, going to the movies, chatting with anyone and everyone, shopping at farmer's markets, and attending kickball games for the Sapphic Saphires (her daughters' LGBT kickball team).
Maité will be remembered by many.
Maité cared deeply about her family and community members. She was a loving sister, daughter, tía, cousin, wife, and mother. She was very proud to have raised three amazing humans.
Maité will be reunited with many of her loved ones, especially her soulmate, Clay, and her sweet dog, Coco.
Funds raised through this will help with end of life costs and a memorial service for her close friends and family. Any additional funds raised will be shared amongst her children.
