My name is Stacey, and I’m raising funds for my brother in Jamaica, who is urgently battling a life-threatening condition—cardiac amyloidosis, which is causing his heart to fail. He’s a 54-year-old small-scale farmer, husband, and father of three. For years, he has also been the main caregiver for his eldest son, who suffers from daily epileptic seizures and has been unable to attend school or work since age 12.
Recently, my brother’s health has declined rapidly. He now has severe ascites (fluid buildup in the abdomen), which causes constant discomfort. Treatment options in Jamaica are very limited. We are seeking care abroad—ideally in the U.S.—where he can receive advanced evaluation and potentially life-saving treatment.
We started a GoFundMe three weeks ago and have raised just over $900, but time is running out. Our family can’t do this alone, which is why we’re also launching this campaign on Fundly.
We are seeking to raise $25,000 to begin urgent care, knowing the total cost may be higher. Every donation—no matter how small—helps bring him closer to the care he needs.
