A Mother’s Dream: Building a Family Farm for Our 5 Daughters

Hi, my name is Marcy. I’m a wife and mother to five amazing daughters, and my family means everything to me. Our lives are guided by faith, hard work, and the belief that a simple life built around family and purpose is one of the greatest blessings we can give our children.

For years, my husband and I have been working toward a dream — building a small family farm where our daughters can grow up learning responsibility, resilience, and the value of living close to the land. We want them to know where their food comes from, how to work with their hands, and how important it is to care for each other and the world around us.

Starting a farm and creating a self-sufficient life takes time, planning, and resources. While we have been doing everything we can ourselves, the reality is that getting started comes with many expenses. Preparing land, building a greenhouse and garden space, and purchasing the basic tools and supplies needed to begin growing food all require more than we can manage alone.

That is why we decided to create this fundraiser.

Our goal is to raise funds that will help us take the first real steps toward building our small family farm. These funds will go toward things like preparing the land, building a greenhouse and garden area, irrigation and soil preparation, and the basic equipment needed to begin growing food.

This dream isn’t about luxury or comfort. It’s about giving our daughters a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and learning how to provide for themselves. We want to create a place where our girls can grow up surrounded by nature, learning skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

How the Funds Will Be Used

We are incredibly grateful for any support that helps us move closer to building our small family farm. The funds raised will go directly toward the essential items needed to begin growing food and preparing the land.

Our goal is to use the funds in the following ways:

Land Preparation – $2,000 Clearing and preparing areas of the land so we can begin planting gardens and setting up our growing space.

Greenhouse Materials – $3,000 Building a greenhouse will allow us to extend our growing season and protect plants as we get started.

Garden Beds & Soil Preparation – $1,500 Materials for raised beds, soil amendments, compost, and other supplies needed to grow healthy crops.

Irrigation & Water Systems – $1,500 Basic irrigation supplies to make sure crops have reliable water.

Basic Farming Tools & Equipment – $2,500 Essential tools such as shovels, garden tools, small equipment, and supplies needed for daily farm work.

Seeds & Plants – $1,000 Starter seeds, berry bushes, and plants to begin growing food for our family farm.
