John G. Jones was one of Illinois’ first Black lawyers, a respected Chicago politician, a fearless civil rights activist, and the founder of the first Black fraternity in America (A.A.O.N.M.S). His work helped shape legal access, political participation, and Black leadership at a critical time in our nation’s history.

Despite his profound impact, Jones’ story has never been fully told in a comprehensive, widely available publication. This book project aims to change that—documenting his legal battles, political influence, organizational leadership, and lifelong commitment to justice, education, and self-determination.

Funds raised will directly support historical research, archival access, editing, design, and publication, ensuring this important story is preserved and shared with future generations, scholars, and communities nationwide.
